Private Commission - Rubber Boots & Walleyes
Every year I am fortunate enough to have two or three private commissions. These are usually a fair bit more difficult and somewhat stressful as I have to ensure that not only are my expectations met but those of the client HAVE to be met. The level of communication is high and the back & forth adjustments to ensure what the client ultimately sees in their finished piece exceeds over and over their expectations.
This particular commission piece is trying to depict a family story of kids in rubber boots trying to catch some stranded walleye that had become trapped in a small river dam. So, one day at the cottage i donned my own black rubber boots and stepped into our shallow water at our cottage are started snapping photos. Along with some from a recent walleye fishing trip I should have enough reference photos to complete the task. Fingers crossed!
A portion of a topographical map of the area in used.
